The album debuted at number six on the US Billboard , selling 69, copies in its first week. The duo recorded approximately 20 songs for the album. After performing front of these two men, Jeremih signed a deal to Def Jam Recordings on that same day. The lead single from the album, called " Birthday Sex " was released on March 24,

Jeremih wrote and recorded "Birthday Sex" in September , initially calling it "Birthday Text" but later revising the name. He thought that "someone would've written a song like that already—one that caters to females on their day".

The vertical portions are called the rami. The angle of the mandible marks the transition between the body and ramus on each side.
